What Is Included in GC Summer Camp?

What Do Will Students do During GC Summer Camp?
There will be English lessons with a native English speaking teacher and skills workshops which are projects and interactive, challenging English games and activities.
Students will go on excursions and participate in exciting activities exposing them to Canadian culture. What makes our camp more memorable is that students will meet and befriend others from all over the world during their time in summer camp!
Camp Week Schedule
English Class
Grammar, Reading, Writing, Communications
English Classes will incorporate all four language skills (reading, writing, grammar, communications) in various lessons and in-class activities. The main focus is to improve all students’ English ability no matter what the starting level is. Students will be motivated and inspired to realize the importance and fun in learning English.
Skills Workshop
Interactive Games and Projects
In the Skills Workshop, students will take part in a series of organized games and projects related to science, social studies, and community. The Skills workshop will allow them to use what they have learned in their English classes in a fun and interactive way, through games and instructional projects that will challenge their English comprehension and communication skills, all while having fun!
Skills/Elective class
Computer Coding, Art, Architecture
Students will select an subject for their evening classes among computer coding, art or architecture. These evening classes will be taught in English and are focused on building and developing life and career skills advantageous, applicable and useful in future areas.

Computer Coding
Whether students are beginners or have experience with computer coding, this class will teach students the basics and fundamental components of computer programming in order to create, design, and computer software and instructions.
Art
Students will have the opportunity to express their personalities and explore their abilities in this class through various art mediums such as sculpting, drawing, painting, creating, etc.
Architecture
In this class students will design and create their own structures, buildings and complexes by building knowledge on essential architectural concepts and allowing to express their creativity with their creations.
* Elective classes are on a FIRST ENROLLMENT BASIS. If the first choice indicated on the application is FULL by the time of full payment, the student will be enrolled in the second option, if the class is already full then the student will be placed in their third option.
Integration Activity/Projects
Weekend activities or projects that show English integrated in various ways
If children and youths want to make the most of their time off, they should consider joining GC summer camp! There would be exciting weekend activities and projects that they can see English integrated and used in different ways through magic shows, music-video making, cultural nights, etc. which will allow them to think about how they can use what they gain from their experience. The positive impact of meeting and making friends with children from other countries and cultures cannot be overestimated. They will gain a global perspective and come to understand their part in our global community.

Outings and Activities are designed to help kids and teens be themselves, explore their passions, and learn something new, all while having fun! GC Camps immerse students in adventures, sports, and cultural activities within BC’s beautiful natural landscape. Sports, adventures and culture activities many adventures, traditional, sports and GC camps take this one step further and immerse them in the BC’s beautiful natural landscape.
* All activities are weather and circumstance permitting. Some excursions and activities may be replaced with similar excursions due to unforeseen circumstances or situations.
Accommodations
Students will be staying at Trinity Western University (TWU) at the dormitories in Northwest Hall. Northwest Hall is known around campus as having a “family” atmosphere and provides a home to 1st and 2nd year female students on its 3rd and 4th floors. Its setting offers incredible bird’s eye views of campus to the south and west, and local mountain ranges to the north and east. Housing in NW is “suite style”, where two double occupancy rooms share an adjoining bathroom and shower. Having the most lounge space on campus per student Northwest Hall is the ideal place for studying, building relationships and experiencing the TWU community.

All students are provided with twin bed, drawers, desk, and chair, wastebasket and wireless connection. Apartment residents are also provided with living room and dining room furniture
Camp Duration & Enrolment
The camp is 6 weeks long and students can enroll for 1 to 6 weeks (minimum 1 week enrollment)
